Our story
Cooking for one, done right.
Solo started with a full fridge and a familiar problem: good food going to waste because cooking for one felt like more effort than it was worth. We set out to fix that.
Start with a receiptThe problem
Groceries in, guesswork out
Recipes are written for four. Portions come in family sizes. So the person cooking for one buys more than they need, forgets what they have, and throws away the difference. Solo closes that gap by starting from what’s already on your shelves.
How it started
Built around the receipt
A grocery receipt already lists everything you bought. We taught Solo to read it, fill a pantry automatically, and match it to single-serving recipes — so the shortest path from shopping to dinner runs through a photo, not a spreadsheet.
What we care about
Zero waste
Use what you have before it expires. Nothing bought for one meal should end up in the bin.
One serving
Every recipe is scaled to a single plate, so there are no leftovers and no mental math.
No busywork
Scan instead of type. Solo does the tracking so cooking stays the fun part.
